Think about where you are right now. Is this where you want to be? Both presently and in life? What if you knew the tools to totally take control and become the sculptor of your own life? There is way to take control of your life and its called Lifestyle Design. Many have already pioneered the trail. People like Tim Ferris are a good example. He has designed his life around his own desires. He calls the shots, makes the decisions, and guides his own sails. How did he do it you might ask? It all comes down to time and money. Some people have all the time but no money; others have all the money but no time. The secret is to find the perfect balance that maximizes both.
Before we go any farther I want this to be clear. You CAN dictate the desired outcome of your life. The parameters of that statement go way outside this post yet I will simplify it. The secret is to become aware of your actions and how they influence the outcomes in your life. Taking an introspective look then applying that to the outside world is the first step to realize whats working or not. Are you allocating your time the most effectively throughout the day to achieve your goals? Do you even have goals? Is your actions getting you toward your desired life outcome? If you’re just drifting day after day how do you expect to reach anywhere? There is a quote that states “Don’t complain about the results you don’t have from the work you didn’t do”. That’s so true. We are caught up in wishing and not doing.
What I want to promote is a mindset that sees errors and eliminates them. Like Bruce Lee once said, “Apply what only is useful, discard what is not. Add what is uniquely your own.” We all have different experiences, mindsets, and behaviors that make us unique. We all have a certain advantage to everyone. The trick is to find that then exploit it like a sweatshop in India. Have you ever heard of the 80/20 rule? Eighty percent of the results usually comes from twenty percent of the work. Find out the few 20% core things that get you the farthest then build on those.
Say if you spend 3 hours a day studying in the library and its not enough. BUT, you don’t have any more time to spare. So breakdown your actual study session. It includes 20 minuets of study followed by 10 minuets of Facebook. Now I enjoy Facebook creeping just a well as anyone else. But 10 minuets of concentration does not warrant a 30 min stalk break. Also, decide which material actually will benefit you the most on the test. Is it the notes, a certain chapter, or formulas? The point to is to identify the critical elements of a study session and discard the rest.
All of these tips I provided to you to prepare you for the next step. Once we have identified those “life toxins” its time to implement better solutions. Sometimes to add we must subtract. This is the first step to Lifestyle Design. To create something first we need to be able to handle it. That is why College Cash Flow was born. To give people that medium to start living Lifestyle Design. College students have enough to worry about besides finding time to make money. It will also work for anyone who doesn't have hours in a day to spend for their money. These systems continue make more money for you after you create them. When you can make money without investing time you have finally found the ultimate freedom.
So remember, take out the bad and leave room for the good. Identify life toxins and allocate your time. It is difficult and painful, I know. Change is painful for we are both the sculptor and the marble.
